The Nat Coombs Show

It’s Back….The 2025/2026 NFL season is nearly here. And, that can only mean one thing... NFL Sundays are back!

And, for another season we’ve teamed up with our good friend Nat Coombs, as the official partner of The Nat Coombs Show.

As the excitement builds, check out the lowdown from Nat on what to expect from the season.

AFC West

This may just be the toughest division in football. Four heavyweight coaches, three teams – the Chiefs, Broncos and Chargers – that have legitimate Super Bowl credentials, and a fourth, the Raiders that have been re-invented under future Hall of Famer Pete Carroll.

Yep, Las Vegas is relevant once again. Forget red or black, lay your final $50 on Coach Carroll ensuring a no-nonsense Defense led by Maxx Crosby that’ll underpin an offense featuring some bona fide talent including next-gen Tight End Brock Bowers, and including the criminally underrated former Seattle QB Geno Smith.

Look out for….explosive Rookie RB Ashton Jeanty

Glass Half Full Projection? Close to 500, spoiler central, ready for the 2026 upside.

Every year, there’s a Super Bowl pick that lots of the hipsters get across, and this time around, it’s the Denver Broncos. Why all the hype? Well, we’re talking a Top 5 Defense,  future HOF coach in Sean Payton, and a sophomore QB – Bo Nix – who confounded most expectations last season and is a perfect fit for the Payton system.

Look out for….Rookie RB RJ Harvey, who can take the ground game to a higher-level year on year.

Glass Half Full Projection? Playoffs, possibly a post season win….but Super Bowl feels like a reach….

The Kansas City Chiefs have been the AFC’s top dogs for so long, but after their bruising Super Bowl defeat to the Eagles, they had real questions to answer. Can the retooled O-line give Mahomes enough time to launch another MVP run? Is this finally the Kelce decline season, or just the start of a new “Last Dance” documentary arc?

Look out for…Rashee Rice – who’ll lead the receiving corp….when he’s actually on the field!

Glass Half Full Projection? AFC Championship Game minimum.

Want a sneaky, inside-rail long shot Super Bowl pick? The hipsters can keep the Broncos; I’m all about the Chargers this year. They’ve upgraded the O-line (hello, Mekhi Becton), brought in fresh blood at receiver, and still have a QB in Justin Herbert with a Top 6 upside. Plus, in Jim Harbaugh, they’ve got a coach who is super clear in what he wants

Look out for… Omarion Hampton – adding edge to a rushing attack that will see a lot of the rock.

Glass Half Full Projection? 11 wins and a serious playoff run.

AFC East

The Buffalo Bills have locked up their core, retooled where needed, and are going into 2025 with Super Bowl-or-bust energy. Josh Allen is in his prime, Keon Coleman is ready for a Year Two leap, and the trenches are sorted with a top 5 O-line. Oh, and the D added Joey Bosa just for fun.
Look out for… WR Keon Coleman who we love on the pod!

Glass Half Full Projection? Super Bowl. No more nearly men. 2025 has to be the year.

If it’s been stable for the Bills, it’s been a most odd offseason in South Beach. Big-name departures, a defense that lost key playmakers, and Miami head coach Mike McDaniel quietly climbing the hot seat odds. Still, there’s enough firepower to cause chaos, if not a serious run at the big prize

Look out for… Minkah Fitzpatrick, back in Miami and a defensive leader

Glass Half Full Projection? Spoiler city, keeping in playoff contention into December, enough to give McDaniel another shot….

The NY Jets love a theoretical redemption arc. Let’s hope Justin Fields delivers, unlike Aaron Rodgers last season. He’s got top tier skill guys like Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall around him, and the Jets have no real pressure on them, so could prove to be a dangerous out, if not a Wildcard shout

Look out for… Rookie Mason Taylor, a next gen Tight End

Glass Half Full Projection? Keeping it competitive, rolling into next season with tails up

In New England, all eyes on are on the legit sophomore QB Drake Maye, but this is Pats team firmly in development. They’ve added another 5-star talent in Will Campbell to anchor the O-line and support Maye, and in Mike Vrabel have landed one of the best coaches in the game. But this is a team with eyes firmly on 2026.

Look out for…Christian Gonzalez – the cornerback returning from injury, with All-Pro creds

Glass Half Full Projection? 7-8 wins, solid development from Maye.

AFC South

They’re Super Bowl contenders again. On paper, the Houston Texans are stacked. If the O-line can keep Stroud upright (52 sacks last season, yikes), the Texans have the weapons, coaching, and a Top-5 defense to go deep.

Look out for… New signing C.J. Gardner-Johnson – still the NC Show’s reigning s***housery champ

Glass Half Full Projection? Divisional Round minimum…but is this the year they finally get the deep water run?

In Indy, there’s talent dotted around the Colts roster….just not enough. Jonathan Taylor can run like a man possessed and Michael Pittman is a Top-10 receiver if he can stay fit but they will struggle to contend without a credible QB option.

Look out for… CB Charvarius Ward giving the Colts a legit shutdown stud
Glass Half Full Projection? Close to .500 and laying the foundation for next season

For the Tennessee Titans, the future is looking bright. They’re just not there yet. On our Edge Rush show, Prop-O loves the upside for Number One overall Draft Pick Cam Ward, and he’s got some wily old vets around him to ease him into life into the NFL. This is a rebuild year, with little pressure.

Look out for… QB Cam Ward, who will benefit from the lack of hype and scrutiny that usually comes with the first overall player off the board.

Glass Half Full Projection? Spoiler team, Ward looking like the franchise QB they hope him to be….

It’s make or break time for Trevor Lawrence’s in Jacksonville. He’s got weapons, a decent line, and a new head coach in Liam Cohen who has proved can bring the best of out QB’s If it doesn’t click now, it may never.

Look out for… Travis Hunter, a bona fide two-way player, one of the elite talents in the Draft, a highlight reel player waiting to happen

Glass Half Full Projection? To upset the Texans to land the Division title, setting up Lawrence as the guy for the next 10 years.

AFC North

Baltimore is amongst the Super Bowl faves once again and the Ravens return another roster stacked with top tier talent. Two-time MVP Lamar Jackson is a blue-chipper, one of the most dangerous RBs in the history of the NFL in Derrick Henry and they’ve got a secondary that might be the best in football. Much like the Bills, this feels like it’s the Ravens time to push over the line.

Look out for… Rookie safety Malaki Starks, no-nonsense, versatile…a classic Ravens pick up

Glass Half Full Projection? Super Bowl contenders, no question.

The phenom Joe Burrow is back with his tag team partners Jamar Chase and Tee Higgins locked in, so the Cincinnati Bengals will always have a punchers chance.

Look out for… RB Chase Brown who emerged last season as an elite runner, adding a new dimension to an already potent offense

Glass Half Full Projection? Deep playoff run, anything short of that is a waste of Burrow’s talent

Can Mike Tomlin do it again? The legendary streak, where he’s yet to go under .500 in almost two decades of being the Steelers Head Coach is under threat….and it’s another NFL OG, Aaron Rodgers, rolling into Pittsburgh for one last hurrah, that elevates them into must-watch TV

Look out for… Rookie RB Kaleb Johnson

Glass Half Full Projection? The run continues!

The Browns are licking their wounds after the dumpster fire that was the Deshawn Watson deal, unequivocally the worst trade in the history of the NFL. Sure, there are heavyweight pieces on the D, and rookie QuinShon Judkins could light up the offense, but without a recognised QB to carry them, they’ll struggle to stay in playoff content.

Look out for… Judkins, sneaky offensive rookie of the year vibes

Glass Half Full Projection? 6-7 wins, a high draft pick to land their QB of the future in the 2026 Draft.

NFC West

The San Francisco 49’ers pushed most of their chips in on QB Brock Purdy, to the tune of $115 million guaranteed. They added more muscle on defense in the draft, including Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams but there’s an awful lot of change in California compared to the Niners recent championship challenging iterations.

Look out for… Mykel Williams who could be the latest in a long line of dominant Niners defenders.

Glass Half Full Projection? Playoffs sure, but Super Bowl? Unlikely this time around.

The LA Rams were close last season, and they’re clearly eyeing the prize once again, with Davante Adams added, who could have a sensational bounce back year in this set up. Sean McVay has proved why he’s one of the best coaches of his generation with this unlikely reboot, with a little help from the superb drafting of his GM Les Snead.

Look out for… Kyren Williams, legit Top 5 running back, an essential piece in a McVay offense

Glass Half Full Projection? Playoffs, and another decent shot at a Super Bowl run

Whisper it, but it may just be happening in Arizona. The Cardinals might just be legit. There’s sneaky talent across the board including Marvin Harrison Jr. who is ready to explode after an indifferent rookie year. Kyler Murray has shown flashes in his career of Top 5 upside, and this could be the year he brings it all together. They quietly re-upped the defense too.

Look out for… Marvin Harrison Jr. Watch him pop.
Glass Half Full Projection? Post season, and a dangerous out for anyone they face

The Seattle Seahawks are all about the Sam Darnold redemption arc. Reunited with Klint Kubiak – they played together in San Francisco - he was elite last season….until those last two games. New digs, new hope but Seattle’s O-line is sketchy (PFF rank them in their bottom 3) so

Look out for… Sam Darnold…can he prove he’s clutch enough?

Glass Half Full Projection? 9–10 wins, Wildcard spot

NFC East

Is the Eagles GM Howie Roseman the MVP 2020’s so far? He’s done it again - Philly return 18 starters and boast maybe the most complete roster in football. They added depth on D in the draft, and there’s every chance Saquon Barkley doubles down on 2024’s season for the ages.

Look out for…Jalen Hurts – if he lands another ring, he’s surely secured HOF status…already!

Glass Half Full Projection? Best record in football and locked and loaded on back-to-back Lombardi trophies.

Unlike the New York Giants where it’s last-chance saloon for Brian Daboll and the vibes are tense. Russell Wilson is likely QB1, but the clamour for rookie first rounder Jackson Dart will heighten if they start slowly…which they most likely will.

Look out for…Abdul Carter – the Giants other first round pick from a decent draft haul, Carter a plug and play elite defensive talent

Glass Half Full Projection? 7 or 8 wins, a feisty defense and occasional offensive fireworks.

The most disappointing franchise of the 21st century? Maybe. But this year’s Dallas Cowboys team is once again intriguing. Dak Prescott is consistent even if he lacks the Lamar/Allen level upside and the George Pickens signing could create a top 5 WR duo with Cee Dee Lamb. They just need to hang on to Micah Parsons which at the time of writing wasn’t looking great.

Look out for… George Pickens – ready to cook in Big D.

Glass Half Full Projection? A playoff win would shut some haters up

The Washington Commanders could be 2025’s version of the 2024 Texans – loads of pre season hype, but in the end, somewhat of a regressive season. Life could be made that much harder for the brilliant Jayden Daniels if his number one guy “Scary’ Terry McLaurin gets dealt. Deebo Samuel adds versatility, and Kliff Kingsbury’s second year with his QB dialling up plays could be electric.

Look out for… Jayden Daniels – he’s an X factor QB, and could cement elite tier status with a similar year to his rookie season

Glass Half Full Projection? Ballpark of 11 wins, a playoff berth and the NFC sleeper to watch.

NFC South

There’s plenty of offensive talent on this Atlanta Falcons roster including Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts,  but perhaps too many unknowns all round for them to be considered serious contenders. Their D was underwhelming last season, so they’ve gone big in reupping this unit in the draft.

Look out for… Bijan Robinson – Top 5 RB, will be the focal point of the offense again,

Glass Half Full Projection? Young QB Michael Penix is legit, the young Defensive players step up, they roll to the top of a winnable division

Baker Mayfield is still the guy in Tampa Bay, and this team just won’t go away. Receiving tag team Mike Evans and Chris Godwin continue to defy time, the defense has punch, and there's cohesion on both sides of the ball.

Look out for…Bucky Irving – a multi-talented RB who can double down on his breakthrough 2024 season

Glass Half Full Projection? 10 wins and another scrappy playoff appearance.

The New Orleans Saints are amongst the favourites…for the worst overall record in football. With no credible options at QB, it’s highly likely that the top tier talent on the roster, like Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave and Cameron Jordan, will be shaking their heads on the sidelines for much of the season.
Look out for… Kamara….and if he still has enough in the tank

Glass Half Full Projection? 6 wins, avoiding a dumpster fire…though crashing to a 2-win season will at least secure them a QB in next year’s Draft

Last but not least, Bryce Young bounced back so impressively in Carolina after being uniformly written off and the Panthers may not be fashionable but could  be a sneaky inside rail playoff pick in a wide-open division.

Look out for… CB Jaycee Horn, one of the best in the game

Glass Half Full Projection? Playoffs, baby!

NFC North

Every neutrals favourite team, is this the year that the Detroit Lions make the promised land? They’re gonna have to do so in the face of adversity with their Offensive and Defensive co-ordinators (Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn), key architects of their recent success, off to pastures new. They return a lot of their top tier talent though, and it’s impossible not to love the spirit that Dan Campbell has built.

Look out for… Jared Goff – showing in the Netflix show Quarterbacks just how much Detroit rebuilding his career has meant.

Glass Half Full Projection? NFC title game and another shot at the big show

Is Caleb Williams the guy? The jury is still out but the Bears are certainly giving him every chance to shine in Chicago, adding yet more pieces including new Head Coach Ben Johnson and first rounder TE Colston Loveland to some top tier talent around him including Rome Odunze & Deandre Swift. Tough division is an issue, but Johnson worked magic in Detroit and will look to repeat the trick.

Look out for… Rome Odunze – could, in fact should, pop in this all-new offense

Glass Half Full Projection? 10 wins, Wildcard spot and surety that Williams is the future,

Jordan Love divides opinion. There are some that feel he’s the real deal, a Top Tier QB who’s set to take the Packers back to the dance, whereas others feel that he’s hasn’t show enough yet to warrant the hype. They’ll need to improve against their divisional rivals – just 1-5 last season.

Look out for… WR Matthew Golden, first round pick and superstar in waiting

Glass Half Full Projection? 11+ wins, NFC North crown, and a serious Super Bowl shot.

Minnesota Vikings
The JJ McCarthy era begins in Minnesota, and he’s got some big cleats to fill after the success of Sam Darnold last season. But Darnold crashed and burned in the clutch, and the Vikings are banking on Mcarthy having greater upside. He’s benefited from a year watching and learning under a solid pro – which worked out pretty well for Patrick Mahomes back in the day.

Look out for… Justin Jefferson – along with Jamar Chase, the best WR in the game right now

Glass Half Full Projection? 10+ wins, JJ is the guy, and the Vikes roll the playoff dice again
