Thanksgiving at Hickory’s: Turkey, Touchdowns & Southern Traditions

Over in the States, Thanksgiving is one of the greatest celebrations of the year. It's a time when families & friends come together, tables are piled high with turkey and all the trimmings, the NFL is on the big screen and everyone takes a moment to celebrate the people & things they're thankful for.

From Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th November, we’re bringing a little taste of an authentic American Thanksgiving to the Smokehouse. Think proper Southern hospitality, a feast worth gatherin' for, festive drinks and all the NFL action.

Whether you're an American living over here and missing a taste of home, an NFL fanatic, here for the food or simply curious to experience something a little different, there's a seat at our table for you.

A Thanksgiving Feast Awaits

Let's start with the most important part: the food!

In America, Thanksgiving dinner is a pretty big deal. It's the centrepiece of the celebration, bringing everyone together around a table full of comforting favourites, generous portions & recipes that have been passed down through generations.

And we've brought that tradition to Hickory's.

Our authentic Thanksgiving Dinner is a proper Southern-inspired feast, featuring tender smoked turkey breast, a smoked pork jalapeño and cheese sausage, crispy tater tots, collard greens and fried cauliflower mornay, all generously drizzled with our homemade gravy.

It's everything you'd want from a Thanksgiving spread, with a little Hickory's twist.

Of course, no American feast would be complete without dessert. So we've got something rather special waiting for you: our Cherry Pie Waffle. Baked fresh, topped with cinnamon sugar and served warm with creamy frozen custard. It's the kind of sweet ending that deserves its own moment of thanks!

A Little Southern Cheer in Every Glass

Thanksgiving is all about making memories, and there's no better way to get the celebrations started than with something festive in your glass.

We're bringing back a true American seasonal favourite: Eggnog. A classic across the States at this time of year, this creamy, indulgent sip combines spiced rum, Advocaat, cream, egg & a pinch of winter spice.

And if you discover a new favourite, you can even take our bottled Eggnog home. Perfect for keeping the celebrations going or introducing your friends & family to a little American tradition.

Fancy something a little sweeter? Our Holiday Shake is another festive favourite, with both boozy and non-alcoholic versions available. There's plenty of reason to raise a glass!

And don't worry, we haven't forgotten about the little ones! They can get in on the festive fun with a Holiday Shake of their very own. Think gingerbread flavour and all the goodies, from gingerbread men & candy canes to chocolate coins.

And the festive fun doesn't stop there. Our bar team have plenty more seasonal sips up their sleeves, including the Hickory's Chocolate Orange. A deliciously indulgent mix of Evan Williams Extra Aged Bourbon, Cointreau, orange bitters & Licor 43, topped with salted maple cold foam cream, a chocolate drizzle & a little orange zest. We'll be showing the NFL action live, with games kicking off from 6pm, so you can experience one of the biggest dates in the American football calendar just as it's celebrated across the pond.

Expect big screens, big plays, plenty of friendly rivalry and a bar full of fellow fans. Whether you know your touchdowns from your field goals or are just discovering the game, everyone's welcome.
