Authentic Southern BBQ

Never been to Hickory’s? Expect great BBQ, Southern hospitality & an atmosphere like no other. Step through the doors and you’ll be transported across the pond, with the sights, sounds & smell of the Deep South.

We’re a Smokehouse, bar & local hangout, bringin’ a taste of the American South to Southport. Whether you’re here for a proper BBQ feast, drinks with friends, live sport or simply somewhere to hang out, there’s always a warm welcome waiting for you.

Authenticity is at the heart of everything we do. Our Southern Pride smokers take pride of place in the middle of the smokehouse, shipped over from Tennessee & Missouri to create proper low ’n’ slow BBQ. From early morning, our Pitmasters are hard at work, tending the smokers & building layers of smoky flavour that make our BBQ worth the wait.

Combined with Southern hospitality & a welcoming atmosphere, it’s what makes Hickory’s feel like more than just somewhere to eat.

Smokehouse classics

If there’s one thing we’re serious about, it’s BBQ. Everything is cooked low ’n’ slow, giving our meat time to soak up all that smoky flavour.

Expect Southern favourites including 16-hour smoked Texas-Style Brisket, Memphis-Style Baby Back Ribs, Southern fried chicken, BBQ wings, pulled pork, jalapeño & cheese sausage, loaded sides & sharing dishes.

And it’s not just about the main event.

Start your feast with Brisket Popcorn Bites or Frickles, then make sure you save some room for dessert. Our Peachy Jam Jar Cheesecake and table-toasted Campfire S’mores are made for sharing… although we won’t judge if you keep them all to yourself.

Whether you’re after a proper feast or just fancy grabbing some food with your mates, there’s something for everyone.

Smokin’ Deals: your midweek plans sorted

Student life means making your money stretch, which is why our Smokin’ Deals are the perfect option! Running Monday to Thursday, from 12pm.

So whether you’re lookin' for a budget-friendly bite between lectures or a midweek meal with your mates, there’s a different Hickory’s favourite to enjoy every day.

Add some Southern tunes, great food & a great atmosphere and you’ve got everything you need for a Friday night.

Our cocktail menu is packed with Southern-inspired serves, frozen favourites & fruity creations inspired by our travels across the Southern States.

Try the Southern Spritz Rainbow Road, The Grape Escape or Twistin’ My Melon for something fruity and refreshing.

Fancy a frozen cocktail? Our Frozen Pornstar is a grown-up slushie served with a shot of Prosecco, while the Alabama Vice combines a Frozen Pornstar with our Grape Soda slushie.

For something tropical, try the Solero or The Game Changer, or keep things classic with a Pitmaster Margarita, Mojito or Old Fashioned.

There’s plenty more to explore on the menu, including sharing serves like our Sweet Southern Sangria.

More of a beer or wine person? Our Hickory’s Pale Ale is brewed exclusively for us, while our range of craft beers means there’s always something new to try. And if wine is more your thing, choose from red, white or rosé from our friends at Chateau Canet in the South of France.

Not drinking? No problem.

You don't need alcohol to have a good time at Hickory’s.

From mocktails & homemade sodas to sweet teas & Freakshakes, our bar team can shake, pour & mix up something delicious.

Try Life’s a Peach, our homemade sweet tea with lemon juice, apple juice, peach purée & passionfruit, served ice cold.

We’re big sports fans at Hickory’s, and our screens mean you can catch all the action while tucking into some proper BBQ.

And if you’re an NFL fan, you’re definitely in the right place. We’re huge fans of American football, and Super Bowl Sunday is basically our World Cup Final. So, if you're looking for a new home for your NFL Sundays, grab your mates and join us for the action.

Our monthly Quiz Nights are the perfect excuse to round up your mates, grab some food and battle it out for the top spot. Quiz Night takes place on the first Thursday of every month at 7pm.

Expect questions on everything from general knowledge & music to films, pop culture & everything in between.
