For the past 7 years, you’ve supported us through every brisket being smoked, cocktail shaken & celebration shared. From family feasts, date nights, birthdays, graduations & “just because” BBQ nights, we’ve loved being part of your stories. And honestly, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Now, after seven incredible years of smokin’ authentic BBQ and servin’ up Southern hospitality, it’s time to give Hickory’s Gresty Green a little tender loving care with a full restaurant refresh.

It's Time for a Refresh...

We’ll be closing on Monday 1st June for our refresh. We can’t wait to welcome you back when we reopen on Wednesday 17th June.

In the meantime, here’s a little sneak peek of what’s coming to your not-new… but certainly much-improved smokehouse.

 

Whether you’re a Gresty Green regular, haven’t been for a while, or are still to try us out, let us tell you a bit about the place...

We take our inspiration from the places we’ve been to, with lots of quirky touches and Southern-inspired design ideas to create a place for everyone to enjoy. The whole family has been thought of at Hickory’s Gresty Green. And while we’ll always stay true to the laid-back Hickory’s feel you know & love, we’re making some exciting changes across the restaurant to make your experience even better.

Expect more cosy booths. Perfect for long catchups and celebrations with friends & family. We’re giving the bar a fresh new feel too, with comfy seating, a warmer atmosphere & an extra screen so you won’t miss a moment of the action. Outside, our garden is getting a summer-ready refresh, alongside updated huts designed for relaxed drinks, easy-going gatherings & Southern-style sippin’ with your favourite people.

Whether you’re joining us for slow-smoked BBQ, cocktails with friends or a family get-together, we want Hickory’s to feel more welcoming than ever.

 

A Bar Built for Settling In

For our regulars & anyone looking for a neighbourhood spot to unwind, the bar is getting a fresh new look too.

Think comfy seating and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to settle in. Enjoy a pint of Hickory’s Pale Ale, your favourite cocktail, or a mocktail if that’s more your style.

Watching the sport? Catching up with friends? Or just popping in before dinner? This space is made for staying a little longer.

Our Garden is Gettin' Summer Ready

We’re also giving the outdoor spaces some love, just in time for summer.

Our garden & huts are being refreshed to create the ultimate spot for laid-back BBQ feasts and Southern-style sippin’. Expect cosy enclosed huts with comfy seating, heating and music - perfect all year round.

You spoke & we listened... we’re adding even more cosy booths throughout the restaurant, creating the perfect spaces to settle in and stay awhile.

Whether it’s family catchups over smokin’ BBQ, nights with cocktails flowing or celebrations with your favourite people, the new booths are designed to make every visit feel even more relaxed and welcoming.

Authentic BBQ, Always

While the restaurant may be getting a refresh, one thing that will never change is our commitment to authentic barbecue.

Our Southern Pride smokers were shipped all the way from Tennessee and still take pride of place in the restaurant. They’ve been smokin’ low ‘n’ slow non-stop for the past seven years, turning out Texas-style brisket, Memphis ribs, Smoked Wings and all your Hickory’s favourites.

But great BBQ is about more than just the smokers.

It’s our pitmasters - trained in the art of barbecue - whose passion, patience & skill make every dish what it is. Around here, we always say: “Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear aprons.”

And our pitmasters really are the heroes behind the smoke. When you visit, be sure to ask Pitmaster Kayleigh for a tour of the smoker room and get acquainted with Gresty Green’s very own smokers!

Celebrating Seven Smokin’ Years

We’ve loved every minute of our seven years in Gresty Green.

Over the years, we’ve built amazing friendships with local schools, sports clubs and organisations including Shavington Primary School, Sir William Stanier School, Leighton Hospital & Shavington FC. From Character Brunches to Independence Day Yard Parties, the support from our local community has meant the world to us.

And of course, none of it would be possible without our incredible team.

From our General Manager, Tom, to long-standing legends including Matthew, Jose, Joe, Maddie, Hannah & Braden. Thank you for bringing the warmth, energy & hospitality that make Hickory’s special every single day.

We Can't Wait To Welcome You Back In

We’ll be closing for a few weeks while the refresh takes place, but don’t worry - we’ll be back open & smokin’ from 12PM on Wednesday 17th June!

While the work’s underway, our team will still be out & about in the local area, and we’ll be sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes updates, sneak peeks & reopening news over on our Facebook page throughout the refresh.
