To all our neighbours, our guests & the good people of Southport - a massive thank you for supporting us for the past 7 years. And what a 7 years we've had.

We’ve proudly been smokin' authentic BBQ, shakin' cocktails & meeting so many wonderful guests. We've loved every minute & couldn't have done it without you. But the time has come to give our smokers a rest & give the place from TLC.   As your Hickory's Southport is having a refresh.

Our commitment to creating a welcoming place for locals remains the same now as it did when we first opened. We'll be making some changes to the restaurant to create a welcoming & authentic space.

Whether you’re a Hickory’s Southport regular, haven’t been for awhile or are still to try us out let us tell you a bit about the place...

We take our inspiration from the places we’ve been to, with lots of quirky touches and Southern inspired design ideas, to create a place for everyone to enjoy.

The Chef's Bar...

Your Hickory's will still have the same feel & laid-back vibes after the refresh. For BBQ fans our Chef's Bar has been a big favourite since we first swung open the doors. It's quite possibly the best seat in the house with a view of our slow-smoked Texas style Brisket. Our chefs might even lift the lid on a few pitmaster secrets.  If all this talk of Brisket is making you hungry check out the menu.

And, when you visit us, make our pitmaster James' day & ask for a tour of the smokers. Make yourself acquainted with Southport's very own smokers.

The restaurant area has most definitely served up lots of smokin' BBQ & welcomed countless guests, so it's having a refresh. You spoke & we listened...we're adding some booths & larger tables. Perfect for get togethers & celebrations.

The Bar...

You're always welcome to join us for a drink in the bar too! Our refreshed bar area will be the perfect place to sit back with a drink in hand. Whether you're watching the sport (we'll have better views of the TVs), catching up with friends or enjoying a pre BBQ cocktail. Connor, Liv & all our passionate bartenders are a friendly bunch & talented bunch, so ask them for a recommendation or to shake up your favourite.

Our Garden...

Our garden has been a firm favourite when sunny Southport lives up to it's name (who remembers the outdoor cinema in the torrential rain?). So, it's getting a makeover too. Think new tables, for both dining & drinking, a new play area for younger guests & we're taking our huts to the next level. Our new huts will have comfier seats & you'll get to take control of the heating (& they're dog friendly too). The perfect place for everyone- just in time for the summer.

For Younger Guests...

Our VIK's really are our most important guests! We keep them entertained with table-top fun, regular special events - we've welcomed so many characters to our brunches and of course their very own movie room, which is having a refresh. Check out our kids menu - it's been specially created with a team of mums, dads and kids, so it contains just the right balance of treats, healthy options and fun. No visit to Hickory's is complete without a trip to our Fro-Co creation station. Designed to showcase the one & only frozen custard (that’s Fro-Co in Hickory’s talk).

We couldn't talk about our refresh without thanking you, our guests & our incredible team. We've helped celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, new arrivals, graduations & just about every other occasion, you are part of our family after all...

What great neighbours we've got too! We've become good friends with the guys from Kew Woods Primary, Queenscourt Hospice, Southport College, Southport FC Community football & the Edge Hill Vikings to name a few. Together we've enjoyed a few god events too - Super Bowls, Garden Parties (in the rain) and so much more. All of this is thanks to you our guests. Your unwavering support over the years has been something else.

And, to our team too! Our very own General Manager, Adam has been here since day 1 (we did send him to Wilmslow on a side mission) before returning home in 2023. Adam doesn't do it alone though... What makes Hickory's Southport truly special is the whole team - the chefs, the pitmasters, the KPs, the bussers, the servers, the barbacks, the bartenders and the managers. From the long-standing legends t0 familiar faces; Mike, James (Tat), Martin, Matthew, Elliot, Samantha, Lydia, Elesha, Connor, Keira & Tash to name a few - thank you!
